Jaimie Russell (That Tall Chick) is a nature and landscape photographer. Her work includes photos from national parks such as Yosemite and Yellow Stone. My job was to develop a brand and variety of collateral for her photography exhibits.
Branding Logo
As you can probably tell by the logo, Jaimie is pretty tall, about an inch or two taller than me! So I thought to play off of her height as opposed to her name. So That Tall Chick it was. Pink is used to portray femininity. While gray is used since that’s her favorite color and doesn’t take away from the pink.
Branding Colors
Pink is is used for supporting graphics and blocks of color, while yellow is used as an accent color such for call to actions. Neutral colors white and black are used for backgrounds and text as not to overwhelm viewers eyes with pink and yellow.
Branding Font
Oswald was the font of choice as being a condensed font, its naturally has a ”tall” height to width ratio.
Poster Pics by Jaimie
Pics by Jaimie was a photo exhibit she in college. I chose green as the background to go with green landscapes Louisiana is known for. The purple is used for the circle enclosing the title which makes it really stand out against the background.
Poster Tranquility
Tranquility was a photo exhibit she put together while she was in college that focused on photos that showed very peaceful and calm setting. The background color, teal, is used as the primary design element with “TRANQUILITY” placed in the center, tracked out a bit. This supports the feeling of tranquility in a minimalistic way. Further details are placed towards the bottom of the layout.
Poster Its Not Easy Being Green
Its Not Easy Being Green was a photo exhibit featuring photographs of the greener side of Louisiana. The well-known phrase Its Not Easy Being Green is used for the title, while the subtitle But it is easy to see the greener side of Louisiana, plays off the title. In other words, being green isnt easy, but it is easy to see the greener side of Louisiana by simple visiting The Gallery.
