As a volunteer Graphic Designer for Cathedral of Faith I supported the Senior Graphic Designer with various projects for both print and on‐screen purposes. It was very rewarding to use my skills to serve the community.

Flyer Hot August Nights

This flyer was designed to promote Hot August Nights at Cathedral of Faith. The four events are organized over a black background to portray nighttime hours. Red is used as an accent for the title, various text elements, and borders to visualize energy and ”hot” August nights.

Flyer Join the Choir

In need of recruiting more members of the church for the choir, I was asked to design a flyer to pass out to church members. The color red is used to portray the energy, passion, spirit of the choir. The subtitle, A New Sound is Emerging, is further emphasized by having sound waves ”emerging” from behind the bar.

Flyer Musician Recruitment

The worship leader looking to expand the Cathedral of Faith worship team, was in need of a flyer to seek talent from church members. I designed a flyer to be handed out to potential talent amongst church members. I chose joyful colors to parallel the joyful experience the worship team gives church members and also included photos of people singing and using musical instruments. A blue‐purple is used for the center block for the title which contrasts very well against the warm yellows and oranges in the background.

Flyer Reaching Out Summer Volunteering

One of the more well‐known ministries at Cathedral of Faith, Reaching Out, partners with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide groceries to low‐income families. Needing a revamped version of their flyer, I was asked to design a new flyer for their summer volunteer program. I chose orange for the title to go with a summer theme. The blue compliments the orange very well and also portrays a blue sky completing the summer color palette.

Outdoor Display Morgan Hill Welcome Sign

While Cathedral of Faith has their main campus in San Jose, they also have numerous satellite campuses throughout the area and even the world! The Morgan Hill campus was in need of a welcome sign to display outside their building. So I designed a vertically banner to welcome church members as they entered. The Cathedral of Faith motto follows the vertical wavy edge.

Sermon Slide and Flyer Warming the Hearts of our City

The Morgan Hill campus needed a sermon slide and matching flyer to promote their ”Warming the Hearts of our City” event. Those in need would receive a free Christmas dinner, groceries, toys, and of course a visit with Santa. The color palette was easy to put together, red and green for Christmas. I incorporated diagonal lines behind the subtitle bar to give the bar a gift ribbon look. Ornaments are used to display all the key points of the event.

Sermon Slide Newcomer’s Breakfasts

The newcomers breakfast is an event held multiple times throughout the year in which those new to the church are invited to a breakfast and tour of the campus. In need of an update, I was asked to redesign the sermon slide. I used a background that resembled a sunrise and used appropriate colors to giving a ”morning” feel to it. A welcoming and inviting font is used for the title.

Sermon Slide and Flyer Toy and Jacket Drive

The Morgan Hill campus was in need of a sermon slide and matching flyer to promote their Christmas Toy and Jacket Drive. The flyer is for the toy collection, while the sermons slide is for the actual event. I used a decorative Christmas‐style font for the title and traditional toys as a supporting visual.

Sermon Slide Women’s Ministry

A sermon slide was designed for the Women’s Ministry new year event. A script font was used for femininity. A heart‐shaped tea cup is used to provide visual support for A New Heart.

Motion Graphics After Effects Reel

After I started to learn After Effects, this is one of my first reels I did to show what I can do. I’ll admit while it’s far less than perfect, it does show that I can at least use the software and am “teachable.” I have created another motion graphics project that is more polished.
